As much about how our erotic exchanges are structured through language as they are directly about sex and desire, the poems in Alex Dimitrov’s chapbook, American Boys, playfully invoke Allen Ginsberg as their guide. “You must kill your boyfriends,” Dimitrov writes. “You must kill what wants, like death, to keep you.”
American Boys includes screenshots of text messages, dating apps, and various other social media. Also included are childhood photographs and other ephemera.
